“Nigerian Police Arrest Crypto Trader Linus Williams (Blord) Over Fraud Allegations”
In a significant development, the Nigerian Police have detained Linus Williams, popularly known as ‘Blord,’ a well-known cryptocurrency trader and businessman. This arrest follows serious allegations of fraud involving his multiple business ventures.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by Police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, Blord is under investigation for his involvement in cryptocurrency and internet fraud, among other offenses. The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), particularly the NPF-NCCC, is actively probing complaints against several of Blord’s enterprises, including BLORD GROUP, BLORD REAL ESTATE LTD, BLORD JETPAYE LIMITED, and BILLPOINT TECHNOLOGY.

“These offences include allegations of cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks,” Adejobi detailed in his statement.
The police are committed to ensuring thorough investigations. “Our cyberspace in Nigeria must be safe and secure by all means. We are committed to achieving that,” Adejobi affirmed.
