NDLEA Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Trade
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its efforts to curb the illicit drug trade in Nigeria, with recent seizures of cocaine, opioids, and cannabis across multiple states.
Operatives successfully intercepted various drugs concealed in shoes, clothes, and household items destined for the United States, United Kingdom, and Cyprus. Cocaine, hidden in custom-made shoe soles, was prevented from reaching Cyprus, while over five kilograms of opioids were seized from shipments bound for the US and UK.

In addition to these international drug trafficking attempts, the NDLEA also made significant arrests and seizures within Nigeria. Large quantities of tramadol, cannabis, and materials used for producing the psychoactive substance Akuskura were confiscated in Edo, Ogun, Borno, and Katsina states.
The agency commended its officers for their dedication and urged them to maintain the momentum in the fight against drug trafficking.
