Harry & Meghan Arrive Nigeria: Invictus Games, Women’s Leadership & Cultural Immersion
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have arrived in Nigeria for a three-day visit focused on promoting the Invictus Games.
Highlighting Invictus Games and Women’s Empowerment
Their itinerary includes:
- A welcome at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters in Abuja to champion the Invictus Games, a sporting event for injured veterans.
- Visits to schools, military hospitals, and a training session for Invictus partner organization, Nigeria: Unconquered.
- A reception honoring military families.
- Meghan co-hosting a Women in Leadership event with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation.

Building Bridges and Cultural Connections
This visit marks their first trip to Nigeria as a couple. Meghan, with Nigerian ancestry, will also participate in a basketball camp with the Giants of Africa organization. Other engagements include a cultural reception and a polo fundraiser.
A Cause Close to Harry’s Heart
Prince Harry, who co-founded the Invictus Games, celebrated its 10th anniversary in London just before this visit. He hopes to see his father, King Charles, “soon” despite their busy schedules.
