Eid-el-Fitr Announcement: Fasting Continues as Crescent Not Sighted in Saudi Arabia
In a recent tweet by the Haramain, it was confirmed that the crescent moon signaling the end of the Holy month of Ramadan was not sighted in Saudi Arabia. As a result, Muslims will celebrate Eid-el-Fitr on Wednesday, 10th April 2024.
The observer of the crescent, Abdullah Al-Khudairi, explained that the sighting was challenging due to cloud cover.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government has declared Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, as holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extended congratulations to all Muslim faithful for the successful completion of the fasting period and encouraged them to embrace the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, and compassion.
