Edo Gets New Deputy Governor: 37-Year-Old Omobayo Godwin set to be Sworn In
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has appointed 37-year-old Omobayo Godwins as his deputy following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu by the Edo State House of Assembly. Omobayo’s inauguration is scheduled to take place today at the Edo State Government House in Benin City.

Omobayo holds a B.Eng Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Benin (UNIBEN). He is a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Prior to his appointment, he served as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited, demonstrating expertise in public administration and professional contributions to the South-South region’s operations.
