The West African basketball scene is about to witness a major shake-up with the unveiling of the West African Basketball Classic (WABC), a groundbreaking tournament set to tip off on February 24th! This exciting initiative, spearheaded by an independent group from Nigeria, Benin Republic, Ghana, and Togo, aims to elevate club basketball across the region under the FIBA Africa Zone 3 umbrella.

Six teams have been chosen to participate in this inaugural edition, representing the best talent from each nation:
- Nigeria: Gidi Giants and Kwara Falcons
- Benin Republic: ASPAC and ELAN Coton
- Ghana: Customs
- Togo: Swallows
The tournament will kick off in Togo from February 24th to March 2nd, followed by a second phase in Benin Republic during April. The highly anticipated Final Four will then take center stage in Ghana from June 8th to 12th, culminating in a grand finale in Abuja.
