Kano Gov. heads to supreme court to challenge Appeal court judgement sacking him
The Governor of Kano state, Abba Yusuf has gone ahead to the Supreme Court to contest the judgment of the Appeal Court that sacked him last week.
The Appeal Court had sacked Gov. Yusuf, of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, over his ineligibility to contest as the court declared he was not a member of the NNPP as at the time of the party’s primaries and at the same time declaring the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasiru Gawuna, winner of the governorship election in the state upholding the judgement of the state’s election tribunal.
However, some confusion arose over the certified true copies of the judgement of the Appeal Court judgement that sacked Gov. Yusuf. The certified true copies of the judgement indicated that the court upheld Yusuf’s victory.
The court has now asked concerned lawyers to return certified true copies of its judgement for corrections.
