CAF announces top 3 shortlist of nominees of the 2022 CAF awards

With CAF Awards 2022 happening tomorrow, 21st of July, 2022, the federation has today revealed the top three (3) for all the women and men categories ahead of the Awards night in Rabat, Morocco, venue of the ongoing women’s African cup of nations.
The top three list is from the list of nominees previously revealed by CAF in both men and women categories.
In the women’s Player of the Year category; four-time winner Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria is in the mix for a fifth crown facing stiff opposition from Cameroonian Ajara Nchout Njoya and new entrant Grace Chanda of Zambia.
In the men’s category, former club teammates and previous winners’ Mohamed Salah of Egypt and Sadio Mane of Senegal will have to battle it out with Senegal shot stopper Edouard Mendy, also a new comer in the three-men list.
The nominees for national team of the year for men category are Cameroon, Egypt and Senegal. However, according to CAF, the women’s category will be announced 23 July 2022 during the final match of the Women’s AFCON due to the absence of a major women’s competition during the period under review so the ongoing competition will be factored into deciding the winner of the competition.
The Awards will be held in Rabat, Morocco on 21 July 2022 at 20h00 local time. (19h00 GMT).
