President Muhammadu Buhari is on a 2-day working visit to Kaduna state. The president arrived Kaduna state from Banjul, Gambia where he attended the president’s inauguration.

The president has now commissioned the Kaduna urban renewal projects within the metropolis and Kafanchan municipal.

While commissioning the remodeled Murtala Square, he congratulated the State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai for his commitment and success towards changing Kaduna for the better.

According to him, he has lived in Kaduna all his life but can hardly find his way around as a result of the developmental projects that has happened in the state.

He appreciated Governor Nasiru El-Rufai, especially for his ability to write his name with gold.

In responding to the president, Governor El-Rufai disclosed that the Murtala Muhammed Square was first built in the seventies for FESTAC and handed over to the Kaduna State government by the Federal government.

He explained that the edifice which has been rebuilt, redeveloped and transformed into a multi-functional facility with five restaurants, a boutique, hotel, sporting facility, horsing, polo, football, swimming, tennis and a track for those that want to jog will operate for 24 hours, seven days a week.

The Governor mentioned that, Murtala square which has always been used for political rallies will be the new city center of Kaduna State.

The other projects commissioned within Kaduna metropolis include Racecourse road, Waff road, Leventis underpass, Tafawa Balewa way, Urban shelter road, Umar Musa Yar’adua road,  Dangote Peugeot automobile, AMA pharmaceuticals, Barbedos group fertilizers plant, Pan drive, Aliyu Makama road, Swimming pool road, Alkali road, Infectious Diseases Control Center, LEA lokoja road and the Kawo bridge.

Those commissioned at Kafanchan include;  Dan haya road, Katsina road and the Emir’s palace Road.
