INEC Says The Date For The 2023 Elections Has Not Changed

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said the proposed date for 2023 presidential date slated for February 18, 2023 has not changed.

This was said during an interview conducted by the nation newspapers with INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye. He said

“The Commission will as soon as practicable meet to consider issues that may shape the 2023 general election and possibly consider the date for the release of the timetable and schedule of activities,” he said.

According to him, 2022 will be a busy and challenging year for the Commission which would involve the elections taking place in the year and also preparations for the 2023 elections.
