INEC Releases Date For Ekiti State 2022 Gubernatorial Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC have announced the date for the Ekiti state governorship election as 18^th of June, 2022.

This announcement was made by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi saying that a notice has been posted at the commission’s state office in Ado-Ekiti today.

According to him, the move was in accordance with the timetable and schedule of activities for the poll released last year by the commission and according to Section 30 (1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) provides that INEC must give Notice of Election not later than 90 days to the governorship election.

The announcement also included the dates approved for party primaries which is to begin from January 4 2022 and end on January 29 2022.
