3rd Boxing Day Premier League Game Postponed Due To Covid-19

BoomRadioNG | December 24, 2021

Everton’s Boxing Day match at Burnley has been postponed due to the number of people infected with Covid-19.

Everton had initially put forward a request for the postponement of the game which was rejected on Thursday despite manager Rafael Benitez claiming he only had nine fit outfield players.

But in a surprising turn of events today, the Premier League relented and took the “regrettable” decision to postpone the game following a meeting of its board and no date has yet been set for the rearranged fixture.

Covid cases in the Premier League are at an all-time high as this is the 3rd of the boxing day matches making it 13 matches in all postponed because of covid-19. The Liverpool v Leeds and Wolves v Watford had been postponed yesterday.
