Nigerian Government to Commence administration of Covid-19 Vaccine Booster Shots from December 10th 2021
The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the administration of a booster dose of the covid-19 vaccine to people who have have completed 2 doses of AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer Bio-N-Tech or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
The announcement was contained in a press release signed by the Executive Director/CEO, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib approved by the the Presidential Steering Committee in charge of Covid-19 in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency.
In the director’s statement, people eligible for the booster shot are persons above the age of 18, have a time interval of 6 months or more after receiving the second dose of AstraZeneca, Moderna or Pfizer Bio-N-Tech or time interval of 2 months or more after receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

All eligible persons are advised to visit the nearest health facility or mass vaccination site for their booster doses as from the 10th of December, 2021 across all states of the federation.
In addition, he said the booster dose gives greater protection against the Covid-19 virus and advised all Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
