England Mandates NHS Workers To Be Vaccinated By April 1st 2022

The English health minister, Sajid Javid have announced that all health workers in England must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 by 1^st of April, 2022 saying it is now a compulsory condition to be gainfully employed as a frontline worker of the National Health Service (NHS).

“All those working in the NHS and social care will have to be vaccinated. We must avoid preventable harm and protect patients in the NHS, protect colleagues in the NHS and of course protect the NHS itself,” Javid told parliament.

“We intend the enforcement of this condition to start on the 1st of April.”

The health minister said there would be exemptions for people who cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons, and for those who do not have face-to-face contact with patients

England is towing the line of countries like France, Italy and some U.S. states who have mandated healthcare workers to get vaccinated.
