Imo State Deputy Speaker Amara Iwuanyanwu Impeached

The deputy speaker of the Imo state house of assembly, Amara Iwuanyanwu has been impeached by the house. During plenary today.

Ekene Nnodim, representing Orlu state constituency, submitted a resolution signed by 18 out of the 27 lawmakers for the removal of Iwuanyanwu as the Deputy Speaker as no reason for the impeachment was given. However, the Speaker, Paul Emezim approved the removal of Iwuanyanwu.

Also, the House of Assembly recalled six suspended lawmakers of the state legislature after about 4 months of suspension on grounds of unparliamentary conduct.
