Be Vigilant and Be Alert – Army Chief Tells Troops
Troops of the Nigerian Army have been told that the current security challenges facing the country calls for all to be vigilant and be alert while discharging their duty.
This charge was given to the troop by the Chief of Army Staff – COAS, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya while addressing instructors at Depot Nigerian Army, Nigerian Military School -NMS, Directorate of Army Physical Training-DAPT, and Army School of Physical Training – ASPT, Kaduna.
According to a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the army Chief urged the troops to conduct themselves professionally, adhere to the rules of engagement and standard operating procedures.

The COAS in his statement also reassured the troops that he places a high premium on the welfare of officers, soldiers, and their families, and those deliberate steps are been taken to address the challenges associated with accommodation in the Chindit Cantonment.
While commending the troops for their selfless service in the defense of fatherland and service to humanity, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya restated that their welfare will continue to be given the desired attention under his watch.
