Former Pension Fund Boss Son, Faisal Maina 21Yrs Get 14 Years Sentence
After the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had proved to the trial Judge at the Federal High in Abuja Justice Okon Abang has sentenced Faisal Maina, the son of the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Taskforce Team, Abdulrasheed Maina to 14 years imprisonment.
While delivering his judgment today, Justice Abang found Faisal guilty on a three-counts money laundering charge preferred against by the EFCC who had been able to establish that he operated a fictitious bank account with the United Bank for Africa (UBA), through which his father, Maina, laundered the sum of N58.1million.

Abang also ordered that 21-year-old Faisal, who had since June 24, 2020, failed to appear for his trial, be arrested anywhere he is found in Nigeria, and be remanded in any Correctional Service Centre to serve his jail term.
The sentence is expected to run concurrently starting from judgment day and will run as follows, 5 years in counts 1 and 3 of the charge, while he was sentenced to 14 years on counts 2 of the charge.
