Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr Names 23-man Squad for Upcoming Clash with Central African Republic
Super eagles’ head coach, Gernot Rohr has released a 23-man squad for the super eagles home and away games against Central African Republic happening next month.
Captain Ahmed Musa leads other eagles which include “red-hot” Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho. The team-list, also has Scottish Premiership star Calvin Bassey, who plies his trade with Rangers. Bassey is in line to make a debut alongside Scottish league big boys Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun. Also making a return is Hoffenheim player Kevin Akpoguma who missed matches against Liberia and Cape Verde due to a positive coronavirus test.
Also included are Genk’s Paul Onuachu, Watford’s Willam Ekong, Brentford’s Frank Onyeka, Everton’s Alex Iwobi, Goalkeepers, Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi, Maduka Okoye and amongst others.
However, Leicester City’s star Wilfred Ndidi and Watford’s Oghenekaro Etebo are not included as they are currently injured, according to reports from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The first leg of the encounter takes place on October 7 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, with the return leg set for October 10 in Douala.
The Super Eagles currently lead their group with six points from two games.
