Education and Communication and Digital Economy Gets N3.11bn as FEC Approves 14 Days Paternity For Men
The Virtual Federal Executive Council Meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo approved the sum of N3.11bn for contracts in the Ministries of Education and Communication and Digital Economy.
While briefing State House correspondents at the First Lady’s Conference Room, Presidential Villa, Abuja, yesterday the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said the approval was given after both ministers of education, Adamu Adamu, and communication and digital economy, Dr Isa Pantami had presented their memoranda.
According to the Information and Culture Minister, the memoranda presented by the Minister of education sought for approval to purchase an official residence for the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutse, in Jigawa State, as well as funding to augment the execution of five projects at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State.

He also disclosed that the ministry of communication and digital economy got an approval from FEC for the award of a contract for digital interconnectivity through the Local Area Network -LAN among identified ministries and other agencies of government.
Also making a disclosure after yesterday’s Federal Executive Council Meeting, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan has said that a 14 days paternity leave have been approved for men.
According to her the 14 days paternity leave is to ensure that men and their babies also can bond well together and that it is important that the young children and the youth bond properly with their fathers just as they do with their mothers.
