Teslim Balogun Stadium To Host First South-West Athletics Secondary Schools Invitational

South-West Athletics has announced plans to host the first South West South-West Athletics Secondary Schools Invitational and Relays at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos. All Senators from the South Western part of Nigeria are expected to throw their weight behind this inaugural athletics tournament which promises to create a platform for the discovery of talent in Nigeria.

All six states in the South-West namely Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo state are all expected to their wards to Lagos for the tournament. The Athletes are expected to converge on Lagos from the 11th – 13th of  November 2021.

The South-West Athletics body has also concluded plans to Set up an Athletics Academy to help discover and nurture new talent for the country. A seminar on doping is also in the works as part of the plans to help grassroots, elite Athletes and coaches navigate the murky waters of doping in sports.
