President Buhari Writes Senate to Amend PIA to Reflect True Federal Character
President Muhammadu Buhari who is presently in New York attending the United Nation General Assembly has written to the Senate seeking to amend the Petroleum Industry Act – PIA.
The letter which was read during plenary today by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan is seeking an amendment to remove the Ministers of Petroleum Resources and Finance from the board of the newly created Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, – NNPCL.

President Buhari, while noting in the letter that the affected Ministers can continue to perform their functions without necessarily being members of the new board of NNPCL he also sought for an increment from two to six members of board to reflect true Federal Character as enshrined in the constitution.
