Africa Sports Management Association VP, Prof. Omotayo Arrives Lagos for Weeklong Tour
The Vice President of Africa Sports Management Association (ASMA) Prof. Oluwaseun Omotayo has arrived Lagos, Nigeria to begin his weeklong tour of the country following his recent appointment as Africa Representative on the Executive Board of World Association for Sports Management (WASM).
Speaking to a cross section of the media on his arrival yesterday from his base in Ghana, where he is a Visiting Scholar with the University of Health and Allied Science, Prof Omotayo said that he elected to commence the Africa Tour from Nigeria being his home country as he will be using the Nigeria leg of the tour of Africa Nations to canvass support for strong Country Representations at the 5th Biennial Conference and elective congress of Africa Sports Management Association (ASMA) scheduled for Banjul in The Gambia next year, while also propagating the philosophy of the global movement of Sports for Development and Peace (SfDP) within the sphere of Sustainable Sports Development (SSD).
Omotayo will be paying courtesy visits to some selected Governors, Heads of National, State/Regional Governments, Ministries and Agencies in the country and particularly the former President of the Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo at his Hilltop resident. He will round up his tour with a meeting with the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports Development – Sunday Dare.

Prof . Omotayo in his capacity as President of African Students Football Union (ASFU) will also be meeting with the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of The Lagos State University (LASU) – ASFU Cup Winners at its inaugural invitation championship to discuss the multi million naira first of its kind ASFU Center of Excellence for football development to be situated in LASU Ojo Campus and make donations of Football equipment to the citadel of learning in Lagos.
Prof Omotayo Nigeria is a foremost Sport Psychologist and member U20 National Team in 1989, during which time Nigeria played for the first time in the finals of the FIFA competition at that level and made history with the Damman Miracle is scheduled to depart for Nairobi Kenya ASMA continental headquarters at the end of his Nigeria tour.
