NIGERIAN ARMY DENIES CLAIMS IT’S TROOPS ARE ON A VENGEANCE MISSION IN ABIA COMMUNITIES
The news begins as the Nigeria Army has today issued a statement denying allegations that it’s men are on a vengeance mission in Abia State. The state reads ““The Nigerian Army wishes to debunk the allegation as a baseless fabrication aimed at not only tarnishing the good image of the Nigerian Army but to create distrust between the public and security agents in the state,”
The statement which was issued by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima also went ahead to debunk rumors of a mass exodus of residents of Amaekpu, Elu, Amangwu in the Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
Brigadier General Yerima in the statement also denied the story making the rounds on social media that the men of the “Eastern Security Network” killed six soldiers in a clash. The Director of Army Public Relations went on to assure residents of Abia state of the safety of their lives and property while urging them to continue to report suspicious movements and activities of strange individuals or groups in their vicinity to the nearest security agency for prompt action.
