I Will Make the Nigerian Army a Formidable Force For National Defense and Security – COAS Maj. Gen. Farouk Yahaya

Today at the Nigeria Army Headquarters the Chief of Army Staff Major General Farouk Yahaya  While addressing the principal staff officers -PSOs, field and corps commanders, the new chief of army staff made it known that he will provide exemplary leadership and thoroughly follow the existing operating procedures by ensuring that the army becomes a formidable force for national defense and security.

The COAS during his address to the PSOs promised to run the army with fairness to ensure that soldiers discharge their responsibilities with professionalism thus making the Nigerian army to become competitive in the 21st century and be ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment in defense of the country.

In restating his commitment to lead the army with sincerity, transparency and accountability at all times the new chief of army said his philosophy while in office will rest on four pillars, namely: professionalism, readiness, administration and cooperation.

Yahaya also assured Nigerians of the army’s determination to ensure the territorial integrity of the nation and paid tribute to Ibrahim Attahiru, the late chief of army staff, and other officers who died in the air crash that occurred on May 21, in Kaduna.
