Senate President Ahmed Lawan opens 2021 First Ordinary Session of ECOWAS parliamentarians in Abuja.

The Nigerian Senate President Ahmed Lawan has enjoined other parliamentarians from the Economic Community of West Africa -ECOWAS to seek out interventions aimed at tackling the lingering problems which are predominant features among member states. Lawan who was speaking today at the opening ceremony of the 2021 First Ordinary Session of the parliament made this call during his welcome address.

He further said that doing so would ensure regional economic growth, besides tackling unemployment and stimulating economic multipliers within the sub-region.
Amongst dignitaries present at the 2021 First Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS parliamentarians were the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Akufo-Addo and Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, Jewel Cianeh Taylor. Also present at the opening event was the Speaker of the ECOWAS parliamentarians Right Honorable Sidie Mohamed Tunis.
