We Have Arrested 1,173 High-Profile Suspects Nationwide Between April and May 2021 – POLICE IG
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has today while delivering a briefing at the State House Abuja disclosed that 1,173 high-profile suspects have been arrested nationwide between April and May 2021.
While making this disclosure he also said that the force is about 70% done with the recruitment process for 10,000 new policemen, adding that the Federal Character Commission – FCC and Police Service Commission -PSC are expected to ensure a true reflection of federal character and other requirements in its recruitment exercise.

The Police Boss also said that the force is encouraging communities to have a sense of ownership of the Nigerian Police Force and that, as part of its Operation Restore Peace, the police will continue to hold meetings with stakeholders – communities, government officials, traditional rulers, captains of industry so as to engender a non-kinetic way of resolving security issues he said.
