According to the Minister, the clarification becomes necessary in view of the recent resolution of the Nigeria Governors Forum that the pump price of petrol is increased.

In the press statement, the petroleum product marketers were urged not to infringe on the seamless supply and distribution system in place and called on the public not to embark on panic buying assuring that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation-NNPC have enough stock of petroleum products that can go round the country.
