BoomRadioNG | April 29, 2021

The covid-19 strain found in India called the “double mutant” coronavirus strain has now been discovered in China announced by the country’s chief epidemiologist.

This was said at a Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention press conference held in Beijing on today, Wu Zunyou revealed the “Indian variant” had been found in “some Chinese cities,”. This news is causing a bit of panic as the country is going a five-day Labor Day break beginning on Saturday.

China is preparing to step up public health measures in order to allay fears of a fresh outbreak caused by the “double mutant” strain B.1.617.

Citizens are rightly concerned about the variant, Wu said, noting: “The virus has been mutating since the start of the pandemic.” It will not stop mutating until the pandemic is over, he added

“Implementing containment measures is key to stopping the spread of mutant strains, and also to prevent the occurrence of new mutations,” the senior health official said.
