NIGERIA’S SOUTHEAST GOVERNORS FORUM ESTABLISH REGIONAL SECURITY OUTFIT NAMED “EBUBE AGU”

Governors Of All The South Eastern States In Nigeria Have Announced The Establishment Of A Joint Security Outfit Named “Ebube Agu” With Headquarters In Enugu State. The Mandate Of The Regional Security Outfit Is To “Oversee And Monitor The Activities Of Vigilante Groups In The South East Region Of Nigeria”.

This Was Revealed Yesterday By Governor Dave Umahi Of Ebonyi State After A Meeting Of The ‘South East Governors Forum”, A Body That He Chairs.  According To The Communique Released By The Governors “The Political Leadership In The South East Has Resolved To Bring Together All The Arsenal At Their Command, As One United Zone, To Fight And Flush Out Criminals And Terrorist From The Zone”.

 

The Forum Also Called On The Acting Ig Of Police To “Stop The Influx Of IGP Monitoring Units To The Region, But To Allow Commissioners Of Police In The States, And The Zonal Commands To Handle Their Cases By Themselves”. The South East Governors Also Affirmed That They Were On The Same Page With The Federal Government On The Issue Of Security Challenges In The Country. To This End, The Meeting Makes It Absolutely Clear That The South East Will Stand Resolutely With The Federal Government To Fight Terrorists And Bandits To A Finish.
