Speaker Dogara Returns To House Of Reps For 4th Time
Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, The RT Hon. Yakubu Dogara, was today declared the winner of the Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, Nigeria.
Dogara who was first elected in 2007 won a total of 73,609 votes as against his rival from the All Progressives Congress, APC Alhaji Katana who garnered a total of 50,078.
Reacting after he was declared the winner of the Seat, Hon Dogara in a press statement dedicated his victory to God and the people of Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency.

βI dedicate this victory to God first and our ever peace loving and resilient people of Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency who defied all odds to return me to the House of Representatives for an unprecedented 4th term,β he said.
Hon Dogara also revealed that he was the first Speaker of the House of Representatives since the first assembly to be re-elected.
He said history had been made βin Nigeria by breaking a jinx that has plagued the House of Representatives since the 1st Assembly as no presiding officer (both Speaker & Deputy Speaker) has ever been re-elected to the House.β
