INEC Postpones Nigeria’s General Elections…

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has this morning announced the Postponement of the Country’s Presidential Election earlier scheduled for today .

Speaking to the media earlier today the Commission’s Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu sited logistic and operational problems as reason for the postponement.

 

The National Assembly  and Presidential elections were scheduled to take place today (February the 16th), while state house of assembly and governorship elections  were set to take place on the 2nd of March 2019.

The Presidential and National Assembly elections will now take place on the 23r February 2019. While elections for governorship and state house of assemblies plus the FCT area council elections will now hold on the 9th of March 2019.
